Applying New K2 License

Through quick action of our account manager, we received the correct licenses. However, applying the licenses required that we run through the entire K2 setup wizard on both production servers which took approximately 45 mins which contributed to the overall 2 1/2 hour downtime.

We noted that there is a 'Licenses' menu item in the K2 management console which would have sped up the process of applying the new licenses dramatically. As the licenses had already expired, the management console could not be accessed.

We would therefore like to suggest:

1) Enable the ability to update the license keys via the Management Console 'Licenses' menu item even if licenses are expired.

Updating of the license key via Setup Manager is a quick process.

    1. Run the K2 Setup Manager on each of the K2 Nodes.

    2. Select Configure and click Next.

    3. Enter the new license key and click Next.

    4. Select Update Server License (see attached screenshot) and click Update.

    5. Within a few seconds the license key is immediately updated and the K2 service is restarted.

    6. Repeat the above steps on each K2 server in the K2 farm.
