I cannot archive a process because the owner is a disabled user Merged

This is ridiculous - the owner of the process has left the company, the process is no longer followed. No-one has taken over the process. I want it deleted. Why is this not able to be done? It makes zero sense for this to be a rule.

    We are in the process of reviewing how to improve parts of the process archiving system and we will include this as part of that review to see if we might be able to achieve multiple improvements as part of the same update. Thank you!
