Add an option to disable 'Link to a network file' feature.

Hello,
I'd like to request to add a feature in configuration settings to be able to turn off 'Link to a network file' option.

Business case: the reason for this ask is that documents in shared drive locations do not open in the browser, and the general rule states that we should add links only to website locations (i.e. SharePoint).

I've been notified that currently there's no regex that will block that option. Additionally, I removed the regex in settings so this field was empty and I was still able to attach documents from internal location (shared drive). I haven't received any errors while trying to link a network file.

Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Pawel

Thank you very much for posting your feedback. At this time, we will not be adding this request to the near-term backlog, as we are focused on improving our search and process variation capabilities and delivering sequential approvals. However, we reevaluate requests every quarter and will reach out if priorities change. Please keep the feedback coming as it is critical for our longer-term planning.

The link to a network drive isn't utilised by many, if any, clients. This is an outdated feature and one that should be able to be switched off to stop end-users thinking that this is a workable option.

We educated clients to have their document in a SharePoint or other DMS in the cloud where it is a lot more user friendly and version controlled.

It would be great if this was a configuration setting that was default = OFF

The instructions on the linking also refer to Internet Explorer which is defunct

If you are using Internet Explorer, before you link the document please add the Process Manager url to the trusted sites settings from Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites > Add, restart Internet Explorer and try the linking again

Thanks for the suggestion. This isn't on our roadmap right now but we'll monitor interest for this feature.
