Hi Leigh,
I understand the point that the workflow instance runs independently once triggered and is not notified about subsequent events such as item deletion. However, from a functional perspective, this behavior feels difficult to align with practical use cases. In particular, it would seem reasonable and technically feasible for the workflow to perform a simple check before sending reminder emails—such as verifying whether the related SharePoint list item still exists. This kind of validation step could help prevent unnecessary or confusing notifications being sent to users when the underlying item has already been removed. I appreciate that this is the current product behavior, but I would like to emphasize that this limitation can lead to avoidable inconsistencies in real-world scenarios. From my perspective, adding such a check would significantly improve the reliability and user experience of workflows.
I hope this feedback can be considered for future improvements.
Best regards,
Ronny
As from the merged Idea, an event On-Item-deleted with relevant StartEvent-Variables would be helpful. Sometimes, we have Lists which have a logically relationship (not by Lookup-Column) and we want to delete all Child-Items, when a Parent-Item has been deleted. Another requirement is the ability to inform somebody by mail about deleted List-Items.
Thank you very much for posting your feedback for our review. At this time, we will not be adding this request to the near-term backlog, as we are focused on other highly requested features.
