Allow for plugin updates/ changes without updating form controls

I’ve updated a custom Plugin (for nintex forms SPFX) by removing and re-adding the plugin from the UI and get a 404 error when loading the form for existing controls that use the plugin. To get it to work you need to remove the existing controls and replace with the new controls.

The process for this is:

  1. Delete the original plugin

  2. re-add the (updated version of the) plugin

  3. Delete and re-add all existing controls that use the plugin

  4. Publish the form

This creates alot of work if the plugin is used in many forms meaning all forms needs to be updated if changes are made.

My suggestion is to either - automatically update the controls when the plugin is deleted and then re-added or better yet; allow an option in the plugin UI to allow the version of the plugin to be updated effectively replacing the plugin
