Include In-progress Documents in the Dashboard

we have so many in-progress documents. The owner and experts are not aware about this from what I have observed. They rely on their dashboard but their dashboard shows nothing for documents that are still in-progress. Sometimes people can get busy and take couple of weeks or months to finalise a document. Having it in the dashboard would help them remember. Thanks
