Problem description:
When editing a variable in a workflow (via the Set Variables step or the Formula Designer), the text input field used to enter static values or expressions has a fixed size and cannot be expanded. With longer expressions or nested functions, it becomes difficult to keep an overview, navigate within the text, and spot errors, since only a small portion of the content is visible at a time.
Desired solution:
Make the input field for variable values/expressions resizable, for example by:
adding a drag/resize handle in the bottom-right corner of the field (similar to a standard HTML textarea), and/or
adding a button to expand the field into a larger pop-up/modal editor window.
Why this matters:
This would improve the readability and maintainability of complex expressions, reduce scrolling and navigation errors, and align with similar improvements Nintex has already made to other input fields (such as the expandable/collapsible time interval boxes in the Task, Timer, and Call Sub Workflow steps).
