Disable 'Submit for Approval' while @TODO items are present

There are instances when process editors overlook resolving @TODO items prior to submitting processes for approval. It would be helpful if the system could prevent the submission of processes while there are unresolved @TODO items present. Perhaps when the user goes to click 'Submit for Approval' a window could appear advising that there are unresolved @TODO items and call out where in the process these are.

    Hi Peter,

    I like the idea of a reminder window popping up to alert the process editor that there are outstanding @todos as I agree that these often get missed or overlooked.

    However, I would still like processes to be able to be submitted for approval and published with outstanding @todos as we are encouraging our writers to use the @todo function to identify opportunities for improvement (e.g. @todo create a template/checklist) and points in the process where it will link to another process that has not yet been created. (e.g. @todo link to approve a purchase order process once this has been created). We then ask our process reviewers to check any @todos when they complete the process review in the hope that the @todo has been completed within the review period.

    We find that this is a really good way of communicating to the rest of the organisation that the process writer is aware of the need to link to another process or to create a resource to link to the process but has not had the opportunity to action this yet.

    Appreciate everyone handles these sorts of situations differently but this is the approach we are using and appears to be successful to date!

    Perhaps this could be a configured setting so that businesses could individually decide whether or not to allow publishing with @todo items?

    I agree with Clare this would be good as a configuration setting that each client organization can decide to turn on or off (eg 'Allow publishing with @todo items" or maybe 'Warn when publishing with @todo items').

    Note this would be for both PAW and non-PAW.

    This would need to be a configurable setting, as I currrently promote that a process can be published with @todo's outstanding . I would rather get processes out there than wait until they are 100% perfect . We would normally follow up at review time if @todos are still outstanding
