Process approval workflow order preference

When processes require approval the 'Subject Expert' should approve prior to the 'Owner' as best practice, however, Promapp does not allow that. With Promapp, the 'Owner' can approve prior to the SME and has no visibility as to whether the SME has previously approved. This causes issues with SME no longer having the Approval button on the process, plus often the SME may have changes that can't be made once the 'Owner' has already approved.

It would be more suitable for the SME to approve prior to the process notification for approval going to the 'Owner' for approval.

    Once Owner has approved, generate notification to Expert (including BA who submitted process for Approval).

    Glad this was raised, as well as M. Beurlen's additional suggestion for notifications - I would like to add a further suggestion that rides on both of these ideas.

    Make it optional for "succesive" approval workflow.

    I can see appreciate the design of the delivered functionality - process should not have to wait, or be dependent on a given approver. In spite of this and after 5 months, some of my users would like to see the PAW as a successive experience: Subject Expert First, then Process Owner next.

    Thanks for the feedback. We do have plans for these changes so clients can define a sequence of approval, and order stakeholders as they wish.

    We don't have a timeline for delivery yet, but keep an eye on our roadmap for updates.

    If sequential approval is developed, could you please make it so a process doesn't appear in an approver's queue until it is actually their turn to approve it ?
    For example our director may be a designated final approver so should only see the process in the queue once all the previous approvals have been performed.
