For workflows that connect to on prem resources (SharePoint on prem for example), we are using a Nintex gateway. Now the gateway is installed on one server and is considered a single point of failure if this server goes down for whatever reason.
We need to have a highly available solution where the gateway is on multiple servers to comply with our guidelines and to avoid down times in cases of maintenance or crashes. will be ideal if the connections are not tied to a specific server but rather to a virtual IP or a load balancer that can distribute the incoming connections to multiple gateways. This way we do not have a single point of failure and won't need downtime when the server hosting the gateway crashes or undergoes maintenance.
