Streamline the document preparation process by integrating the Field Tagger component directly with word document editor, allowing users to replace field labels with field taggers in one click without switching tabs or manually copying and pasting.
Current Challenge
When creating documents in Nintex DocGEn, users typically insert placeholder labels (e.g., <<FirstName>>, <<Email>>) directly into a Word document. To turn these placeholders into active field taggers, they must switch to the Field Tagger component, manually copy each tag, and paste it back into the document. This workflow is repetitive, time-consuming, and prone to errors.
Proposed Solution
Enable a direct integration between the Word document editor and the Field Tagger component. Users would be able to:
Draft the document using intuitive field labels (e.g., FirstName, Email).
Click a button (e.g., “Replace with Field Taggers”) to scan the document for these labels.
Automatically convert the labels into corresponding field taggers in-place—without leaving the Word editor or switching tabs.
User Story
As a user preparing a Word template, I want to insert simple field labels directly into the document and convert them into field taggers with a single click, so that I can save time and avoid the manual copy-paste process.
Benefits
Significantly reduces document preparation time.
Minimizes errors introduced by manual copy-pasting.
Improves usability by eliminating unnecessary tab switching.
Creates a more intuitive, streamlined tagging experience.
Optional Enhancement
Add intelligence to suggest field mappings automatically based on labels, with the flexibility for users to define custom mappings when labels differ from actual field names.
