In K2 5.8 the new feature for Form Translations works by determining the language from the "Accept-Language" value within the HTTP Header, which is a configuration setting of the browser. This works great, however it would be even better if we have a means to override this behaviour and force the Runtime display language using something like a query string parameter or calling a Form Rule.
The requirement here would be that the user can initiate the change of language directly from the form and/or from links allowing the user to choose the language.
In Nintex Automation K2 (5.8.1), April 2025, the following enhancements were made to localization:
Enable or disable translations for views and forms in the Designer by selecting or deselecting the Translations property of the view or form.
Enable or disable translations per product for Workspace and Management, Runtime Forms, and the Designer in Management>Translation Settings.
The Find uses button in Forms Translation>Translations allows you to view a list of instances for which a translation has been used within a view or form.
The Filter For Language option in SmartObject text and memo type properties allows you to translate data within a SmartObject at runtime.
Use the _ui-culture query string parameter to test a specific language translation on a view or form at runtime.
Create translation keys for properties that are mapped from the Context Browser in the Designer.
When is this planned for release please?
We are working on this right now! Query string parameters as well as user profile settings to allow better control than the default browser language. Stay tuned, and thanks for the feedback!
