In the development of applications in Nintex K2, Forms and Views are checked out, edited, and checked in by developers across different teams. Currently, there's a challenge in viewing the modifications made, as only the version number is updated without additional information.
To improve this process, it would be beneficial if developers could see a changelog when they check out a View and open it for editing. This changelog would include details on what was changed since the last version, with the ability to read changes all the way back to version 1. This would allow developers to quickly identify modifications, potentially accelerating bug detection and error resolution.
Additionally, another option could be to offer a prompt when checking in the Views and Forms, allowing developers to voluntarily leave a comment describing in their own words the changes made compared to the previous version.
Benefits:
Improved Transparency: Developers gain clear insights into what has changed in each version, enhancing understanding and collaboration across teams.
Efficient Bug Identification: By seeing a history of changes, developers can rapidly pinpoint and address errors or bugs related to specific modifications.
Streamlined Development Process: The ability to view and comment on changes helps maintain consistency and continuity in development efforts, reducing the likelihood of overlooking important updates.
Enhanced Communication: Comments when checking in Forms and Views foster better communication, allowing developers to convey specific intentions behind changes, facilitating smoother transitions and integrations.
