Centralize Custom Extensions: Add Workflow Steps to Management

Problem: Currently, managing custom workflow steps lacks a dedicated, easily discoverable entry point within the Management section. Designers gaining access to Custom Controls will encounter a similar need for managing custom workflow extensions.

Proposed Solution: Introduce a dedicated "Custom Workflow Steps" link within Management, ideally grouped with the new Custom Controls page. This would provide a single location for managing all custom extensions to K2.

Benefits:

  • Increased Visibility: Makes the Custom Workflow Steps functionality more apparent and accessible to designers.

  • Centralized Management: Creates a logical grouping for all "Extending K2" or "Custom X" components, improving organization and discoverability.

  • Simplified Workflow: Provides a consistent and intuitive experience for managing custom extensions.

  • Completes Existing Functionality: Surfaces and enhances a feature that has existing groundwork but lacks a proper management interface

Implementation Details:

  • Create a new management page accessible via a link in the Management section.

  • This page would essentially embed or provide similar functionality to the existing form: https://[servername]/Runtime/Runtime/Form/com__K2__System__Management__Workflows__CustomStep__Forms__Main

  • Consider placing this new page within a broader "Customizations" or similar category that would also house the Custom Controls management.
